Lovin' that sunny California vibe? How about surfing on the waves of Malibu beach late afternoon? Or a skateboard ride in the sidewalks of Venice Beach? Sounds great doesn't it? Well... wait no longer, because now at least you can experience that sound for yourself.
Jacob and Nicholas from Surf Curse present us with their single "Forever Dumb" part of their Sad Boys EP. They deliver us what seems a nostalgic, but exciting ride through surf rock and all the wonderful sounds it brings. They start right of the bat with a exciting drown in distorted feedback guitar riff companion with a simple punchy drum beat. They build us up with scruggy slightly revered vocals that lead straight to a chorus filled with excitement. It's not before things start to break down into what seems like a pool of nostalgic memories before a power punch outro reminds of the good ol' days of skating and surfing.
"Forever Dumb" does it's job coming across what Surf Curse plays... surf rock. Not only does it do the job, but it provides the needed excitement we all need to remind us that surf rock continues to be
very much alive for the most part. Their combination of twanging guitar riffs and power punchy drums is all that is needed to get us engaged. It really makes one feel like they are living the California life
style and brings a nostalgic feeling as well.

As much as I enjoy the song, I still think Surf Curse could improve a bit more in terms of the energy
they bring. It wouldn't hurt to bring that bass up and distort that guitar a little more? Maybe add
some more reverb to their vocals and the drums? There were times especially, during the outro, where I felt more energy could have been given to ultimately end things with a BANG! They have the overall structure and tone there, but I believe they can bring that energy up to the next level.
Don't get me wrong, the Surf Curse and their song "Forever Dumb" don't fail to impress. It's a very good song that really shows the potential and energy these guys could have in the future. Apart from that, their EP, Sad Boys, is probably one of the best surf rock EPs I've heard in a while. You'll be missing out if you don't decided to check these guys out. You'll never know... they may make you want to skate yourself down your local beach for some surfing lessons.
